The Heat Illness Prevention Standard, under Title 8, California Code of Regulations, Section 3395, initially adopted on June 15, 2005 and revised in 2015, requires all employers with outdoor work sites to train their employees on how to prevent heat illness, including taking mandatory breaks called ""Recovery Periods"" for workers working outdoors in temperatures exceeding 80 degrees, drinking water regularly, seeking shelter in a shaded area, and wearing proper clothing.

It is mandatory to train both employers and employees that are engaged in outdoor activities conducted in hot weather about the seriousness and prevention of Heat Illness, which includes Heat Exhaustion, Heat Stroke, and even death.

Our poster is designed to be used as a reference guide, and supplement the Cal/OSHA standard training requirement as well as the employer's Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP). Displaying posters is a sign of your commitment to safety.
